Nedret is a Professor of Statistics in the Department. She is a celebrated educator and has expanded the educational offerings for graduate students in statistics.
Dr. Overtoun Jenda

Overtoun is Assistant Provost for Special Projects and Initiatives as well as a Professor of Mathematics at Auburn University. He has served as the PI or director for many grants focusing on STEM education. His work is far reaching and has greatly improved the educational experience of students across the United States and world.
Heather Haskell

Examining-M.U.E.S.
Heather is a lecturer and course coordinator in the Mathematics and Statistics Department at Auburn University. With over 30 years of teaching experience spread between the secondary and tertiary level, Heather brings rich and varied practical insights to our research endeavors. Melinda and Heather are currently working on the project “Classroom Data in a Reflective Teaching Practice”, exploring the capacity of various classroom data to provide an educator insight into their own teaching practice.
Dr. Huajun Huang

Huajun is an Associate Professor in the department and also serves as a project leader for the DREAM – Math project, a joint venture with the College of Education and other state institutions that is working on addressing the shortage of k-12 math teachers in Alabama.
Dr. Lora Merchant

Establishing-M.U.E.S.
Lora, a lecturer and course coordinator, plays a key role in fulfilling the educational mission of the department. She implements our graduate teaching assistant training as well as coordinating the pre-calculus courses.
Dr. Chris Rodger

Envisioning-M.U.E.S.
Chris is a Professor Emeritus in the department. He has served as the PI for many grants, and in particular has worked on improving undergraduate mathematics courses through graduate assistant teacher training.
Dr. Hans-Werner van Wyk
